flutist Adi Menczel has performed extensively in the major concert
halls of New York and across the United States and Asia as soloist,
chamber musician, and with orchestras. The Washington Post described
her playing as "stirring" and hailed her for having "technique
that flowed like champagne bubbles". Among her honors, she was
a winner of the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Competition,
the National Flute Association Competition and the New York Flute
Club Competition.

Menczel has made several solo appearances in Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln
Center, and has performed recitals in New York, Florida, Atlanta and
New Jersey. She was invited to give several performances in honor
of Israel's 50th Anniversary and Jerusalem 3000, including playing
in the Israeli Embassy in Washington DC and for the annual gala concert
of the America - Israel Cultural Foundation.

Menczel has played with the Philadelphia Orchestra and as principal
flutist with the Riverside Symphony, the International Symphony Orchestra,
the Prometheus Chamber Orchestra, the National Orchestral Institute,
the Colorado Festival Chamber Orchestra, the Manhattan Philharmonic
and the Riverside Festival Chamber Orchestra. She has appeared on
the New Jersey Network show "State of the Arts" and has
recorded for EMI Classics, Albany Records, and New World Records.
She also recently performed as guest flutist with the Windscape quintet
at the Norfolk Chamber Music Festival.

Menczel completed her Bachelor and Master of Music degrees at The
Juilliard School as a student of Jeanne Baxtresser and Carol Wincenc.
At Juilliard, she held the Community Service and Performance Education
Programs Fellowships, and several teaching assistantships. Dedicated
to arts education, she has performed for the Lincoln Center Institute,
the New York Philharmonic School Partnership program, Young Audiences
of New York and Connecticut and has served on the flute faculty at
the Palisades School of Music.
ursuing
her interest in the business of music, Ms. Menczel was invited to
give several seminars at The Juilliard School regarding developing,
promoting and managing a music career. |
