Misty Tolle Pereira is an active French horn player and arts educator in the New York City area. As Director of Educational Outreach at the 92nd Street Y, Ms. Pereira manages arts education programs that reach 7,000 public elementary school children throughout New York City--most of them in economically disadvantaged areas and many in neighboring East Harlem.

With Ariel Winds, the wind quintet she co-founded in 1998, Misty Tolle Pereira performs at some of the nation's top concert venues, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and Merkin Concert Hall. Frequently praised for its artistry and technique, the group has developed an inventive and engaging format for children's concerts that was called a national model by Chamber Music magazine. Ms. Pereira's performing experience also includes playing with Broadway orchestras, including Phantom of the Opera and Wicked and holding artist residencies throughout the country. She records for BMI and EMI Classics.

Misty Tolle Pereira received a B.A. and an M.A. in Music from The Juilliard School, where she studied under New York Philharmonic associate principal horn player Jerome Ashby. She is married to Joseph Pereira, acting principal timpanist in the New York Philharmonic.
