Erin Gustafson | Oboe

Oboist Erin Gustafson enjoys an active freelance career in New York, where she regularly appears with the American Symphony Orchestra, New York City Ballet, and New York City Opera, among others. She has been a member of numerous ensembles, including the symphony orchestras of St. Louis, Oregon, and Grand Rapids.

As a frequent chamber musician and soloist, Ms. Gustafson has performed in such venues as Carnegie Hall, Merkin Hall, Bargemusic, and at Lincoln Center. She maintains an active interest in new music, and has appeared with such groups as ACME (American Contemporary Music Ensemble). Recently, Ms. Gustafson gave the New York premiere of David Ludwig’s Radiance for oboe and string orchestra with the renowned Vermont Youth Orchestra during their first-ever performance at Carnegie Hall.

Ms. Gustafson was born and raised in the Pacific Northwest and holds degrees from Boston University and the Mannes College of Music. Her teachers have included Ralph Gomberg, John Ferrillo, and Elaine Douvas. She now resides in New York with her husband and their two children.
